Hidden Dip

I could ask how many lovers you’ve had
    or when the last time was that you cried.
I might pry into your innermost fears
    and damage your psyche or pride.

I could be more discreet–just tell you you’re sweet
    or complement mother and dad.
But that would not be very honest of me
    ’cause I’m just not a sensitive lad.

How about you? Brutally honest, too?
    Don’t think that you’re putting me off.
I doubt there’s a thing that could drive me away!
    Was that a choke or a cough?

Could we do this again–tonight or the next?
    I don’t need much of your time.
I guess at the least I should just ask your sign;
    I’ve already told you mine!

    Hi Greg even though I consider my self an atheist I believe the good book contains a lot of wisdom, from the minds of human kind rather than from a god. I appreciate your insights. All the best this chilly Solstice Season, Avril

      Thank you, Avril! I didn’t see this comment just now. And I love love wherever it comes from, and I see it in you!
